Adams Tree Farm took root in 1961 on the eastern coast of Canada in a small town in New Brunswick. Adams Tree Farm officially began in 1988 when Gary and Dee Dee Adams bought a farm south west of Shelburne, Ontario and dedicated a ten-acre parcel to balsam fir Christmas trees. That year they planted 10,000 Christmas trees and from that point on the family spent every spring and summer planting, pruning and preparing for the upcoming Christmas harvest seasons. In the mid-nineties they started providing wholesale trees to the retailers around the G.T.A, as well as operating several of their own retail lots in southern Ontario. In 2004 the family decided they were ready to open the farm up as a “Harvest Your Own” operation and used a tractor and hayride to get the customers out to the tree fields, they served hot chocolate to customers through a service window in an old post and beam shed on their property. After a couple years of working through a window the family cleaned out and spruced up the shed so that customers could also enjoy some warmth on those cold days while sipping hot chocolate. The girls and their mother decided that it would be nice to put up a display of gifts, now customers can browse the shelves while sipping a hot beverage, enjoying the cozy comfort and casual atmosphere while chatting with friends and neighbors. Adams Tree Farms is open for business from the last weekend of November until Christmas Eve each year, and are now providing trees for the landscape industry throughout the year.
